A GREAT FAMILY HISTORY

In 1980 Angelo Copat, originating from the region of Friuli Venetia Giulia and already in the furniture business from1963, founded the COPAT spa company under his family name. It was located in via L. Zanussi 9 in Maron di Brugnera in the heart of an area that was already called the Altolivenza district, stretching across the provinces of Pordenone and Treviso. Since then it has become the most important furniture manufacturing area in Italy. The initial production surface (10,000 sq.m building lot on a gross area of 30.000 sq.m) was clearly meant for planned development with the aim of creating an industry specialised in the production of kitchen furniture for the medium-high market segment.

In 1986 the production surface was expanded to cover a 16,000 sq.m build area and it was equipped with new and more efficient machinery in order to meet the increasing market demand.

The POLES company was purchased in 1991 and was gradually transformed from a bedroom furniture manufacturing company (bedrooms and wardrobes) into a venue specialised in a just-in-time production of components with lacquered or transparent finishes using polyurethane and acrylic varnishes, all in compliance with the environmental regulations in force.

The production plant in Via Carpenè 23 was built in 1992 adding a further 13,000 sq.m of build area that also includes a management centre called the MARKETING CENTER, a service building that includes a SHOWROOM and meeting rooms. It is also open for meetings with dealers on special days called OPEN DAYS.
The centre however, is open all year long and customers can visit in person by making an appointment with the sales management.
In 1996 Copat spa achieved the important goal of obtaining the UNI EN ISO 9001 CERTIFICATION, a target reached by making remarkable technology and training investments required to achieve a modern and dynamic company structure. This is a reflection of a company oriented toward market requirements and CUSTOMER SATISFACTION, with a precise Company commitment.

In 2003 Copat spa obtained the environmental management system certification according to the UNI EN ISO 140001 standard. This is the second goal reached that takes the company towards high organisation and efficiency levels that are rarely found in the sector.
Copat has always considered people, technology and respect for the environment to be fundamental and irreplaceable mainstays in pursuing high company performance.

On 2007 Copat SpA is the first Italian kitchens' producer EMAS registered, aim which has been obtained through a reorganization of its activities and minimizing, through gradual but continuous efforts, its environmental impacts.
The EMAS registration for Copat SpA means the right international award for the obtained results in terms of environmental protection and sustainability of the industrial development.

On 2008 Copat SpA obtained the certification of the "Management system for health and safety of workers" according to law OHSAS 18001:2007. The obtaining of this certification represents the fourth reached aim, which brings Copat SpA through OHSAS 18001, to complete its management system: quality and efficiency of products and process, environmental protection, health and safety protection of workers reaching the excellence fot its Integrated Management System.

On 2009 Copat SpA obtained the Excellence Certificate for the management system ruled from laws ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001: 2007.
The reached excellence certified the effort that the company proves into the quality, environmental and health and safety of warkers sectors from years.
